AUT Project - Sea Eye to Eye
My animation skills have also proven to be useful for university projects in my bachelor of Creative Technologies. In 2020, I utilised 2D animation in Adobe After Effects for an interactive project that has achieved the ‘School of Future Environments Adobe Imaginable Futures Award’. Because of my degree, through multiple group projects, I also have had the experience of working in a team.

About the Project:
The aim is to illustrate the journey of how culture and language are passed on between immigrant generations, with a specific look at the third and fourth generations. Particularly with East Asian symbolism, in which we often see depictions of koi carp and goldfish. Through this installation, we would portray the multilinguistic concept of dying bilingualism and increasing monolingualism due to the progression of generations and societal bias towards the political and economic power of the English language. We wanted to create a physical installation that explored projection mapping. A kinect was used to sense movement of the users' hands to interact with the fish.
